Suzee's Story...
Hi, my name is Suzee, and I am cute as a button. I am a young girl, about 1.5 years old, found by animal control with deep wounds under my arms. I still have some rawness in my armpits. The docs think that my harness was once embedded in my skin. I have an old injury to my rear leg that has healed and sometimes I do not put weight on it. But no worries with that, I still run, jump and play like a normal pup. I really enjoy playing with the dogs here in my foster home. The crate is not my favorite place, but my foster mom is helping me with this. I am mostly housebroken, so my new home will have to keep me in a routine. I am a little shy and will warm up to you after a little bit.

Update 2/4/2012: I had my entropion and spay surgeries, so I am all set to go to my "furever" home!

The goal of Virginia Shar-Pei Rescue is to help rehabilitate and re-home shelter Shar-Pei, Shar-Pei in situations of cruelty and neglect or simply families that can no longer care for their Chinese Shar-Pei.

We are an IRS 501©3 approved organization. Our group is comprised of volunteers that are dedicated to finding loving, forever homes for Shar-Pei in need.

Our Adoption Process...
All applicants should fill out and submit an online application or download and send in an application. Upon receipt of your application, we will contact your vet for a reference and then arrange a home visit. Once this has been done we will try to match you with a Pei that you are compatible with. There is a $275 adoption fee. All Pei are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and heartworm prevention and micro-chipped.
