Cookie's Story...
Tiny little Cookie is a Pekingese who appears to a purebred. She is 2-3 yrs old and only weighs 8 1/2 lbs and needs to gain 2 or 3 more. Poor little Cookie hasn't had the best life but thankfully her owners are being charged with animal cruelty. After getting a call about Cookies situation they went out to check on her and knew immediately that she needed out of that situation! She only weighed about 7 lbs then and had a huge abscess on her rear hip from possibly a dog bite that wasn't treated. The vet drained it and now it is just about gone. Cookie is a sweet little thing who loves to cuddle with her human. How anyone could have mistreated this baby is beyond us. Although she loves humans, she can sometimes be aggressive with other dogs so she would do best as an only child.

Cookie wants a home for Christmas .... one that will love her and spoil her like she deserves. Is that home yours??

This dog has been spayed, received rabies and DHPP vaccinations, de-wormed and tested negative for heartworms.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cookie, a Duluth Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Duluth, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Duluth.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Duluth already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Duluth breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Duluth paves the way for another one to be saved.
