My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

INITIAL BIO 12/13/2011: MEET TATER TOT! Tater is 2 years old and weighs 8-1/2 lbs. His owner loved him a lot, but was unable to care for Tater in the manner in which he deserved, so he came to UYR to re-home him so that he could have a better life. Tater is a 'dorkie' - which is a yorkie/dachshund mix. Tater's father is a tiny yorkie and his mother is a long-haired chocolate dapple miniature dachshund. Tater has a yorkie face and yorkie haircut - his ears stand out on the side - too cute!

Tater is very curious and also very sweet and good-natured. He gets along with other dogs, but if he goes into a home with another dog, it probably should be a submissive one. Tater loves to give kisses and have his belly rubbed. He adapted very quickly in his new foster home and seems to get along with all other animals and people as well. Tater needs some more help in the housetraining department, so Foster Mom will be working on that with consistency and frequent potty breaks.

Tater has been in 3 homes in his short life and really deserves a forever home that will be - well, forever! His first home was a young household and probably not the environment he needed. He was sad and skiddish when the 2nd owner took him, but once he began to trust them, he was very sweet and gave lots and lots of kisses. He is very affectionate and would be completely happy if his new owner held him a lot (he loves to jump up on your lap) and gave him constant attention. He also loves to play and fetch. Tater would do well in a home where he is the only dog since he loves attention so much; he could be adopted into a home with children over the age of 10. Could Tater be the perfect 4-legged companion for you?
