There are so many wonderful qualities that can be found in this sweetheart named Katie. Katie is loyal. Katie is genuine. Katie makes you feel like you mean the world to her. When she bonds with a person, she becomes their shadow and while she is not a demanding dog, she is happiest by her person’s side. She is gentle, submissive, and very obedient. She gets along well with other dogs, but seems to feel most comfortable with those of similar temperament – easy going and docile. She likes cats and is very happy around them. Katie is generally a quiet girl, measured in her barking, but will alert when a complete stranger approaches. She is affectionate, thrives on praise, and aims to please. She has very good manners and walks well on a leash. Katie loves tranquility and so she would be a great fit for a retired couple with such a lifestyle. If you would like to see Katie’s soulful eyes and sweet smile in person, please send an email to bornfreeshelter@gmail.com.

About Born Free Pet Shelter

About Our Shelter...

Born Free Pet Shelter is a No Kill 501(c)(3) non-profit dog rescue organization that has been helping homeless dogs since 1980. Located on a beautiful 5-acre refuge in the Redlands of South Florida, Born Free rescues dogs in distress and offers them the chance to lead happy and healthy lives.
We are currently responsible for over 160 dogs, ranging from puppies to seniors.
With the help of generous donations and the tireless efforts of our volunteers, we provide the love and care that they deserve.
Some of our dogs will live out their days at the shelter, but we have so many that would make wonderful companions if given the chance.

Come Meet Our Pets...

You can meet our adoptable dogs at any of these locations:
Petco (1635 NW 107th Avenue) every Saturday 12pm - 3pm
Petsmart (13621 S Dixie Hwy) every Sunday 11am - 3pm
Petco (Miami Beach) 1st Saturday of every month

For adoptions, please send an email to geraldinebornfree@gmail.com.

Our Adoption Process...

At the time of adoption it is essential that a fee be charged as it will be used to feed and maintain the animals that are housed at our shelter. The adoption fee includes DHPP vaccine, rabies vaccine, microchip and sterilization. We do a home check prior to approving any adoption.
