My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SADIE. UPDATE: December 28. Dear Sweet Sadie had her surgery yesterday. This is one of the worst cases of Doxie abuse that Jenell has seen in a long time. Her uterus was so damaged from having so many births in the 4.5 years that she needed extensive spay surgery. Even our Doxie Vet was stunned at how badly she was damaged. Sweet Sadie was fed only garbage in her breeding cage, so her teeth were all rotted and infected. All teeth were extracted and she is in extreme pain, but vet is keeping her as comfortable as possible. Jenell will continue hand feeding and giving her pain meds when she moves her to ODR INC this afternoon. PLEASE consider an end of year donation to ODR INC for her vet bill. It is astronomical and is an unexpected strain on our already stressed budget. We absolutely had to save her, but funding is desperately needed. Tax receipts will be sent out promptly. ======== 2012 will be the beginning of Sadie's WONDERFUL LIFE. So far, not so much. She is an adorable miniature female black and tan (10.7 pounds) who has just been rescued from a b-y-b, who used her for breeding, but not as the recipient of the love and positive attention that all these little dogs deserve. But that is over now. ODR, Inc. is investing over $1000 in getting her teeth and all other medicals taken care of so that she will start a new life, healthy and happy. (Please consider donation for vet expenses. Vet number is 503 543 6464.) Despite this rough start in life she is an awesome girl. She is a real love and could be placed with neutered male doxie (not socialized to big dogs). Older kids OK. =====The adoption fee is $295, no exceptions. The fees include spay/neuter, rabies, dhpp, bordetella, pyrantel, advantage treatment, grooming including nails, as well as complete exam at our doxie vet. Each dog comes with all new doxie halter, new toys and blankets. All in all, an investment greater than the adoption fee. Please go to www.odr-inc.org. We have very strict adoption guidelines because we require an escape proof fenced yard and someone who is home most of the day. Kids over 10 are ok, but no cats less they've been raised with them, or other small prey animals (these are hunters). If our requirements sound like a good fit, please complete the questionnaire and email it to jrangan@teleport.com. ====== Please wait to call until we have your information. We're busy trying to find the best homes for all the wonderful dachshunds we have. The best way to get an answer is by email. We make every effort to respond within 24 hours.
