My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Willie is a lab mix that we found wandering around the park, lost for about 2 weeks. When we found him 4 months ago, he was ultra skinny, had cuts on and around his nose and head, and he lacked any type confidence. We were a little hesitant to bring him in because we already had two smaller dogs and we worried about their safety. Willie put that thought to rest pretty quickly the first day once we saw how submissive he was to other animals and people in general. He is now in great physical and mental health.

Willie loves fetching tennis balls and going on morning walks. Willie used to have some issues with cars. He used to be terrified of cars, especially parked ones. Now he walks by cars with no problem. He never willingly got into the back of my SUV when we would go on rides to the park. Once we dragged or carried him in, he used to just lay down, crouched to the floor until the ride was over. Now he cant wait to get into the car, Willie jumps in without any type of assistance or extra motivation, and he loves to hang his head out of the tailgate while the car is moving. Willie is a very gentle and curios character who has never shown me any type of aggression towards animals or people. When dogs confront him with barks and growls, hes immediately on his back. I say that Willie is gentle because of the way he plays with my other dogs that are of his size. They tug and pull at his skin while he plays along with them in such a gentle way. Willie has not been neutered, he is house trained, and is a descent walker on the leash. He has a friendly and playful attitude and loves to cuddle. We will miss him, but I think my dogs will miss him more.
