Herman's Story...
Herman is a fabulously friendly teen kitty. We rescued Herman as a kitten in early Sept 2011. Herman's pictures don't do him justice. He has the softest fur you've ever felt and he gives kitty hugs where he wraps his paws around your neck! He cannot get enough attention. His motor is always running and he is in a permanent state of happiness. You simply MUST meet him in person!
He was taken in to help treat his eye infection. We have been able to treat his eye, but there are some lasting effects due to the the severe infection he had. Herman is marked as special needs due to his scarred eye and the possibility that the eye will need a little bit more attention in the years to come.

Our Adoptable Kittens ARE NOT WILD. We take them from the streets at a young age, and most are feral at the time of rescue. However we spend many hours taming, socializing, and acclimating them to indoor life as a pet cat. They are currently friendly, healthy, and playful kittens who are just waiting for their special someone to take them home.

All of our kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated against Distemper, and treated for fleas and other parasites.

If you are interested in adopting one of our kittens, please download an Adoption Application from our website at www.focusonferals.org, and email it to crazyforferals@yahoo.com, or mail it to PO Box is 372, Lowell MI 49331 Our adoption fee is $85 for one kitten and $125 for two.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Herman, a Byron Center Russian Blue cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Russian Blue for sale in Byron Center, or seeking a Russian Blue cat from a breeder in Byron Center.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Byron Center already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Byron Center breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Russian Blue breeders who help with Russian Blue rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Byron Center paves the way for another one to be saved.
