Ivy's Story...
My name is Ivy. I came from the Delano shelter. I was found sleeping under a stairwell of an apartment complex. I'm four months old and am skinny at six pounds. I was a little shy at first with the other dogs in the home but now I'm having fun chasing and being chased around the house. We like to wrestle and lay together when we're tired. I like sleeping in my foster mom's lap when she reads a book. I've been really good about my housetraining. No accidents. But that's probably because my foster mom takes me out all the time. I also sleep quietly in a crate. Please fill out an application so you can meet me.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Castro Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Castro Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
