Riley's Story...
Please note that puppies need to relieve themselves every 2-4 hours until they are at least 6 months old. A 3-month-old puppy will need to go out every 4 hours. Housebreaking can take at least 6 months, with a daily time commitment of every 2-4 hours. We will be looking for adopters whose schedules can easily accommodate a puppy's needs. Those applicants who also have prior large dog experience will be considered first. Harmony and her sisters were dumped in a box by a school. They were truly fortunate that they were found by animal control and then put into their foster home. Riley is smart and is definitely a lab. She is very loving and enjoys giving kisses. Riley is the quieter and smaller of all the sisters. She is sweet and pretty calm for a puppy. She does have a mind of her own as all girls should. She is the last one to come when called as she is usually busy doing something she wants to finish. She is completely crate trained up to 3 hours during the day with a regular schedule all day long and can sleep 6 hours overnight without an accident. Keeping her on a schedule will insure that she continues to be crate trained and will help with her housebreaking skills. She will be ready for adoption after January 26th once she has finished her vaccinations and has been spayed and microchipped.

To start the adoption process, email us at happilyeverafter4dogs@yahoo.com requesting an application. This does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Riley, a Houston Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Houston, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
