Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Doodlebug came to BDRA when her owner brought her to a vet’s office to be euthanized. She had produced one dead puppy and also went blind quite suddenly. The vet’s office contacted us and she came to BDRA a few weeks later. They spayed her and treated her for skin issues (she has a flea allergy and had some skin infections). And Doodlebug has not looked back! She is a complete love bug! She quickly learned her way around my house and at times, does not appear to be blind by the way she can maneuver. She is the friendliest, happiest, and sweetest girl, with nothing but love in her heart!! Doodlebug loves attention and cuddling, but if you’re busy, she will happily lay by your feet until you have time for her. And when you are ready to cuddle, her body will wiggle with delight while you rub her belly! Doodlebug is completely housebroken and walks well on a leash (she does pull a little), and she knows “sit” and “come.” She waits quietly while I prepare everybody’s food, and after eating, she sits patiently in the treat corner while the other dogs get their medication. She will take a treat gently from your hand. Doodlebug’s skin is improving and her coat is growing in nicely. She is no longer on medication for her skin, but does have a slightly musty/yeasty smell and her skin feels moist. She gets a medicated bath every other week or so. She also takes one Benadryl daily for allergies. She is quite overweight (at 27 pounds) and is on a diet. She eats a completely grain-free, high-quality food. She is very trusting, and will run to you from where ever she is if you call her, trusting in you that the path is clear for her. Her only aim is to please…. Doodlebug ignores my three cats (although one of the cats really likes her!) and my three other dogs. She can go upstairs by herself, but is still learning how to come down, and cannot come down by herself. She rarely barks and I have never heard her growl. Doodlebug would love a house where the owner is home a lot… she is never alone more than five hours here and that seems to be her limit….not because she needs to potty, but because she misses her people very much. She will be a wonderful addition to any family and will reward you with all of her love a million times over… she is a very special girl.
