Riggs's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, not good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Riggs's Story...
Riggs is not a Malamute. He is a Chinook hound which is a rare Alaskan breed. His previous owners were from Alaska but Riggs has spent the last 3 years roaming the streets of Mattituck being fed by many of the nice people there.

This big friendly hound is now in the shelter looking for a new forever home. He is very large and needs a home with lots of space. Because of his size he should be in a home without small children.

Please come visit Riggs at the shelter. You may recognize him from the neighborhood.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Riggs, a Peconic Alaskan Malamute dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Alaskan Malamute for sale in Peconic, or seeking a Alaskan Malamute dog from a breeder in Peconic.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Peconic already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Peconic breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Alaskan Malamute breeders who help with Alaskan Malamute rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Peconic paves the way for another one to be saved.
