Jake's Story...
"Hi there everybody...it's the new year now, and one sure way to make it a really great year for you and for me, would be to come visit our shelter and get to know me. My name is Jake and I'm the real handsome and beautifully marked Shepherd mix fellow, who is in residence here at our shelter. Would just love to have a new forever home and to be your new forever pal and best friend. I'm just 2 years old, am housebroken, do well with older kids and I get along with larger animals. My hair is short, so you know that I would be easy to care for. Would love to have a new forever home, with a nice yard, where I could run and play, and then at night, have a dog bed in the house, where I could be close to my person or my people. I very much enjoy going for walks and walk nicely on the leash. When you come to the shelter, just ask our great shelter staff to introduce you to me, and we can get acquainted in one of our nice exercise yards. Please plan a visit soon, and let's get acquainted, and we just might discover that we are the perfect match and will become best pals "fur"ever!!! Love, Jake" Kennel #46

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a El Cajon German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
