Liger's Story...
Liger arrived at his foster’s home after being picked up from his owner who was moving to the States. Liger was originally adopted in Seattle with his brother BOXER. He is a large, well-proportioned tabby with silky-smooth fur, beautiful symmetrical markings, and a white front and mittens. Liger is curious, adventurous, and athletic, a quintessential teenager. He will attempt leaps of eye-popping complexity. He is a big eater with a healthy appetite. Not a lap sitter, but loves petting and attention. His favourite activity is chasing treats that his foster dad throws down the hallway outside the apartment. He also likes to hang out in the hallway, lying down and waiting for people getting off the elevator to pet him.

Liger and his brother Boxer are pals. Sometimes they groom each other; other times, they play a baiting game, with Liger lying on his back teasing Boxer with one paw and Boxer sitting near Liger's head and performing a mock attack every time Liger swats him. They will probably tolerate other cats, as long as the other cat or cats feel the same. Liger needs a big home with lots of places to explore and lots of stimulation. He would be friendly with kids of all ages. Liger and Boxer would be fine on their own, but would enjoy each other’s company if the were adopted together.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Liger, a Vancouver Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
