NEWT's Story...
I'm what a newt looks like. I have a great personality, very easy going, and I have no idea why I haven't gotten my "forever home" yet. My owner left me and moved away. I was left on the streets through last winter for 9 months without food or shelter. Neighbors "sort of fed me" but would not claim me as their cat so when I needed medical help I was out of luck. If it were not for F.A.T Cat Haven I would have died. My story is on www.fatcathaven.org under news. We aren't sure of my age but I do so love to be held and I love kids and people. I have been so thankful that these guys are a lifetime care place so if I'm not adopted I won't have to worry about being euthanized. I'm very healthy now that they have taken me to the vet for care. They give me lots of lovin' and keep assuring me that it's not my fault that I was left behind and that they love me. This time I would really like like it if adopted for you to keep me as part of your family and not leave me no matter what. I am worth it!

About Our Shelter...
We rescue homeless, abused, abandoned cats. We also provide a home for those cats left to us by their persons for various reasons. We are a no kill shelter and will provide lifetime, loving care for any cat placed under our guardianship if it is not adopted. This shelter was started because there was a need for a place where cats could live out there lives in a natural, safe, loving environment. We accept cats in all stages of life, some with medical conditions, handicaps, the elderly and the orphans needing to be bottle fed. F.A.T. Cat Haven will provide anything necessary for a cat to have a loving, quality of life. Our greatest need is a grant writer to help raise funds to expand our facility and provide the needed funding for food and veterinary care so we can shelter and provide a home for more cats in need.

Many visitors say it should be called "Fat Cat Heaven" instead of Haven. Watch for fund-raising garage sales in the Triplicate Newspaper.
The cats need donations of money, food (canned & dry), treats, paper towels, used clean blankets, grooming brushes and combs, advantage flea treatment (any size), laundry detergent, sponges and of course loving volunteers.
Our Adoption Process...
Currently our adoption fee is $50. This is sometimes negotiable if adopting more than one cat or kitten. There will be a simple form to fill out so we have your information. We will interview you to make sure that we will be adopting to a responsible pet owner and to be sure that we will have a cat that will fit into your particular household. We do request that if for some reason later you are no longer able to keep or care for the adopted pet, that it be returned to our sanctuary.
