Thor is a 17 month old, deaf, Great Dane. He knows a limited amount of sign language, has gone through obedience school, and has recently become a Therapy Dog. Thor's family can no longer keep him, due to an on-going conflict with their male Lab. Thor is very gentle and loving, but needs a strong family structure and a considerable amount of guidance. He is totally housebroken, crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash. Thor needs to be placed with a family who has a large, young, female dog, that loves to play. Only applicants experienced handling large dogs, or having some experience with deaf dogs, need apply.

Check the events page on our website for more information and directions to our adoption events.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thor, a Warren Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in Warren, or seeking a Great Dane dog from a breeder in Warren.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Warren already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Warren breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Warren paves the way for another one to be saved.
