Ginger's Story...
Ginger and her companion, Spike, are two of the sweetest little dogs you could ever want to meet! These precious pups have been together for over 5 years (essentially their whole lives), but now need to find a new home, due to their family being deployed to Germany. Both dogs are house broken, crate trained (they like to be crated together!), walk well on a leash, ride terrific in a car, love children, and are very affectionate. Spike (~8 yrs old) is very outgoing and adapts to new situations very easily. Ginger (~6 yrs old) is a bit on the timid side with new people, but warms up quickly, and gains her confidence from Spike. If you would like to learn more about Spike and Ginger, please email us at info@FORrescue.net and request an application.

** Ginger and Spike are currently in a foster home near Huntsville, AL. Transportation to your area is included in their adoption fee, which is reduced since they must be adopted together. **

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ginger, a Hagerstown Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Hagerstown, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Hagerstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hagerstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hagerstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hagerstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
