Kentucky Blue's Story...
Blue will have you laughing and entertained for hours on end with her playful antics. This black and white medium/long haired ball of fun is better than TV - and much more interactive. Blue and her mom, Snow White, were rescued by the MCSPCA from a high kill shelter in Kentucky just in the nick of time - hours before they were to be euthanized. Blue loves to curl up on your lap or in the crook of your neck. Her purr can be mesmerizing and a wonderful stress-reducer. She has not seen a toy that she doesn't love to play with. Blue is perfect with the litterbox and has had no accidents. This sweetheart is not shy at all and will quickly fit into any home where there is love.

To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and either come to an adoption event or arrange to meet the cat in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kentucky Blue, a Gaithersburg Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Gaithersburg, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Gaithersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gaithersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gaithersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gaithersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
