My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

INITIAL BIO: My name is Leo. I'm 4 years old and weigh 12 lbs. I'm a
nice "sturdy" boy and love love love to cuddle and snuggle and do all
the things us dogs like to do. I was rescued by UYR just in the St
Nick of time! See, my previous owner turned me in to the high kill
shelter a week before Christmas because she said I didn't get along
with her dog. I was adopted to a woman who said the same thing. They
called me "aggressive". Meanwhile, I was matted, fur was covering my
eyes so I couldn't see, and I was scared. On Christmas Eve, it was my
last day. Knowing I deserved a chance and a proper evaluation, my FM
sent the email that saved my life. She picked me up the next day the
shelter opened, which was 12/27. She had this to say.

"Leo was so happy to be leaving the shelter. He gave me kisses the
whole ride home. He had no issues with Ralphie (the other pup in the
car) or with Logan (whom he greeted with tail wags when they first
met..... and Logan really doesn't care for other dogs and let him know
it). Leo didn't bat an eyelash. We went straight to the tub for a
little shave-down. See, Leo has kennel cough after all that time in
the shelter, and no groomer would take him. He did fine, though he did
get mad at the clippers after about 20 minutes which was
understandable. He is doing very well. He hasn't shown ANY aggression
towards other dogs, but we are thinking a home where he is the only
dog might be wise. He does guard his food a little so everybody is fed
separately. That's about it. Oh, and he is 100% housetrained!!! What a
great pup!!! Seriously, he is a wonderful dog. We're so happy we gave
him a chance!"
