Meet Bruce! Bruce found himself homeless in Manhattan and wound up at a shelter. We saw his little beagle face staring at us from the euthanasia list and knew he needed to get out immediately.
Bruce is a mellow, 4 year old beagle who loves everyone he meets! He is small at 24 pounds, although due to his short stature he could afford to lose a pound or two. He loves food (what respectable beagle wouldn't?) and he will sit immediately for a treat of any kind. He has his choice of toys in his foster home, but prefers "Lambchop", a stuffed lamb that he carries around proudly. Lambchop's squeaker frightens him though, so he gently grasps it by the head or the tail to avoid scaring himself. He is not a barker - his foster family has only heard him bark once, and that was when the vacuum cleaner got a little too close to Lambchop.
Bruce is up to date on all his shots, housetrained, neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped, and ready for a new home. He is fine with other dogs and likes kids and adults alike. His foster family leaves him free in the house while they are at work during the day and he is perfectly behaved. If you are looking for a great family dog, Bruce would love to meet you!
