Delilah's Story...
Hello! My name is Delilah and I am a sweet and wonderful girl that came to Soft Place to Land on 9/23/2011. My birthday is 4/17/04 and I weigh about 20 pounds. I am currently staying with a young couple without kids, which is probably the best for me. When there are a lot of children, I can be pretty nervous when they are active, but I am very curious about them when they are just chilling on the couch. Even though they make me nervous, I am very tolerant of them and would never hurt a child. When I get overwhelmed, I like to have a "safe spot" I can go to hang out until I feel more comfortable, like a blanket in the corner or an open crate. I also like to gather all the toys I can find and put them on my dog bed, I am a bit of a hoarder. I do need a short warm up period when needing new people, but if they have food that warm up period is dramatically shortened and they have generally made a friend for life! I am crate trained, housebroken, and can use a dog door. I get along well with all other animals. I LOVE my daily walks and enjoy car rides. I would probably do best in a mellow, quiet home. I do have a cloudy eye - my vet thinks it is due to some trauma to my eye prior to coming to ASPTL. I am completely blind in that eye because of the injury. My adoption fee is $75 because I have a generous sponsor who has agreed to pay half of my $150 adoption fee to help me find a good home. If you would like to meet me, please visit www.softplacetoland.org for an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Delilah, a Ft. Collins Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Ft. Collins, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Ft. Collins.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ft. Collins already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ft. Collins breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ft. Collins paves the way for another one to be saved.
