My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Elsa was born in June 2011, and is pure black with small white hairs on her chest. She came from a breeder who had both parents and siblings on the premises and who realized that it was too much for him to train, socialize and care for so many dogs. He reached out to GSRNE to be sure the dogs would be correctly placed.
In spite of the fact that she was not well-socialized, Elsa is very affectionate with her foster parents; she likes to cuddle and give kisses, and they say she soaks up affection like a sponge. They’ve been working with her on obedience training and just reported that she has graduated from puppy kindergarten and has learned to play with some of the other dogs. Initially, she needs time to adjust to meeting another dog.

Elsa loves to play in the fenced yard and will fetch her “cuz” toy; she knows the name and will go find it if you ask her to do that. She enjoyed playing in the snow we had in October, and she has learned that riding in the car is a fun thing to do.

On her daily walks, Elsa will move along nicely; but she has a strong prey drive and will try to chase after squirrels or cats. Her foster parents have been using an Easy-walk harness on her lately, and they say that helps a lot to keep her under control. She’s enthusiastic about greeting visitors to the home and will initially try to jump on them. Having had a lot of Christmas company, though, has given her opportunities to practice greeting people more calmly. She’s an active, energetic young girl and will need good leadership, consistent training and daily exercise. She’s quite intelligent and could take over a home unless she’s given that leadership and training.

If this active young female comes bouncing into your life, she will steal your heart!
