Ivy's Story...
Updated 12/9/11 10/27/11 Ivy is a wonderful blue brindle, spayed, 120 lbs-34inch Dane. She is just a joy to have in our household! Ivy gets along well with the other resident dogs, both male and female, and has no problems with the 4 year old human boy.For being 6, Ivy has lots of spunk left and loves to do 'zoomies' around the yard with the other dogs. She plays well with others, but is not to fond of the puppy who is 5 months jumping at her all the time. She will growl but has never snapped at the pup. (I don't blame her one bit, I would to if she was in my face all the time!) Ivy has lived with cats and is said to be ok. She is full potty trained, excellent on a leash, loves car rides, respectful of the fence, does not bark much, and aims to please her humans. She can be a little bit timid at times, and likes to have an open crate with her favorite blanky in to be her safe place. Ivy would be a great addition to any family whether she is the only dog or has 'adult' dogs to play with. She was said to have a slight fear of men, but none has shown since she has came to our house. Ivy has been through a lot in her lifetime, including a tornado. She can get slightly scared of storms and LOVES to cuddle up and be reassured that it is ok(usually with her blanket over her head and your hand petting her). She is perfect on free-roam during the day/night and has no issues with garbage, separation anxiety, or counter surfing that we have seen. If you are looking for a girl to put a smile on your face every morning, then look no further! I have nothing but glowing remarks about this very well mannered girl. 12/9/11 Miss Ivy is doing wonderful in foster care. We have had her over a month now and love her to pieces! She caught on to the routine SUPER fast and continues to amaze us with the things she knows. She has been very well behaved when meeting neighbors or friends coming over and just LOVES to soak up the attention, once you are seated that is. Ivy can still be a little timid and needs some reassurance every now and then that it is ok. She finally has decided to bring her blanky out of her crate and claim a spot on a dog bed in our family room. Ivy has not had any issues with the resident dogs and plays like a little pup! Ivy will sit on your lap for hours and loves to have conversations with everyone. She is just an all around sweet girl who will be a great addition to any family. Don't waste anymore time, come meet Ivy, I'm sure you will fall in love!
