Snuggles's Story...
Snuggles is the cutest guy ever. How he came to find himself in that nasty shelter, we don’t know, but he sure didn’t belong there. Snuggles is about a year old and we believe him to be part Cocker Spaniel and maybe Flat Coated Retriever. He weighs approximately 35 to 40 lbs. Snuggles is a great young man. He is housebroken and crate trained. He sits, comes when called and loves to play fetch. Snuggles is very social with other dogs and even the kitties and gets along wonderfully with everyone he meets. He is one big love bug and as his name indicates, he likes to snuggle. This boy, like all young boys, likes to romp and play and fetch the ball or knotted rope toy, but settles down very nicely after playtime. He would also be great on some nice long walks in the park. Snuggles would make a great companion for just about any family. Snuggles is neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations including rabies and micro-chipped. He is also on flea and tick preventative and heartworm preventative. If you would be interested in hearing more about Snuggles and how he would fit into your family, please indicate him in the notes section of the online application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Snuggles, a Salem Cocker Spaniel/Flat-Coated Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel/Flat-Coated Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel/Flat-Coated Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel/Flat-Coated Retriever breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel/Flat-Coated Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
