Max's Story...
Max is a handsome, energetic, strong and playful, one-year-old, 55-pound, male pit bull terrier looking for a loving guardian. Max is a muscular, happy and friendly guy who just loves to play. He likes toys and balls and seems just fine with most other dogs his size. He knows how to sit on command and takes treats gently. He landed at Chicago Animal Control and was lucky to be taken in by Famous Fido Rescue. Max is very healthy, neutered, micro-chipped, up-to-date on vaccines, de-wormed, and heartworm-tested. To meet and possibly adopt him, please contact Gloria at fido@famousfidorescue.com or 773-907-0305, or Martha at martha.j.hack@gmail.com or 773-690-2881. His adoption fee of $175 benefits the Famous Fido Rescue & Adoption Alliance. The rescue has big, small, old and young dogs looking for loving guardians. They spend their days at the Famous Fido Dog Boutique and Bakery at 5430 N. Clark Street in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. Stop in, buy your dog a cookie, and meet some of these lovable souls.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Chicago American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Chicago, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
