Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This super-cool guy may look like a Disney caricature of a guard-dog with his German Shepherd ears and Doberman coloring but he is so much more. Max has the military bearing of a Doberman, standing to attention and waiting for his next command but he is also playful and affectionate. He loves retrieving and swapping out squeaky toys and tennis balls and he takes all treats with a soft mouth. Max knows all of his commands and then some – it isn’t so much that he’s working on his obedience skills more that he’s perfecting them. Max walks nicely on leash and understands the heel command and wait. Max is about five-years-old and has a great energy level for most households – he isn’t jumpy or mouthy but he is happy and playful when stimulated, calm and relaxed when left alone. Max will enjoy a home where there is consistency and routine so he understands what is expected of him – he really wants to please. Don’t set Max up for failure – he will do whatever it is he thinks you want of him – if you allow him put his paws on you in greeting, he will do it to everyone he wants to greet in a friendly way including your three year old niece and your ninety-two year old neighbor. With Max love and consistency will begat love and obedience – what more do we want from our canine companions?
