Buster's Story...
Buster is a funny little guy! He is an alpha boy and can get a bit grouch with other dogs, although on the other hand he loves to play with other dogs. He is so very cute! But was never socialized well. He is leery of being picked up and will only be held for a short period of time before wanting down. He is also extremely smart and sensitive! He will howl to get what he wants. If he is outside and wants in and you are not fast enough, he will howl at the door. He is just a funny little guy! He does need some work on his potty training. He knows to go outside, but at his foster's home he marks. This is primarily because there are a number of marking males and they like to compete. I feel that with some consistent encouragement Buster will stop marking. He is not very old, only about 5 years. Buster is up to date on his vaccinations, but could use a dental. I can help the adopter to get a dental for a reasonable price. Buster needs someone to understand him and to give him the time to learn to trust and to learn to be loved. Buster has a special adoption rate to the right person, of $75.

About Our Rescue Group...
Our primary goal is to save tiny dogs who are at risk of being euthanized. This happens sometimes just because people are no longer able or willing to keep a dog, or it is because the dog needs medical attention. Most of the dogs have many loving years to provide as a pet once they have received the medical attention that is required. Some of the dogs that we get are young and perfectly healthy, possibly only needing to be spayed or neutered.

Our Adoption Process...
You can initiate the process by contacting us by email at Dixie@tinydogrescue.org You will be asked to complete an online adoption information form. This is followed up with a phone interview to discuss what you are looking for in a pet, your lifestyle and family dynamics. A veterinarian reference is required. A home visit or video documentation of your home environment is required. Our adoption donations range from $100-$300 depending on the expenses incurred for a particular dog, the dogs age and condition. To finalize an adoption a contract is signed giving individuals legal ownership of the dog.
