Deuteronomy's Story...
Deuteronomy is a pretty big name, and at around 18 pounds, I’m a pretty big cat. But, hey, Deuteronomy can be a bit of a tongue-twister, so let’s just say you can call me “Dude.” I tell all my friends they can call me “Dude,” and I’m sure you and I are going to be fast friends. I love people. You people-types are super-fabulous friends for a feline to have. I like my feline friends as well – I live in a foster home with a bunch of kitty compadres. Now, the dogs – well, I guess they’re ok, but even at my size, they can make me a little nervous with all that barking. I’m quite the teddy bear of a guy, and I’ll even let you pick me up – well, if you can manage. Thankfully, my foster mom is pretty strong! If you need to build some upper body strength, maybe I can be your coach/assistant! I’d love a job – well, beyond my full-time job of being adorable snuggler. (PLEASE NOTE: I can only be adopted in the DC Metropolitan area. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Deuteronomy, a Aldie Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
