Blue's Story...
Blue is a 5 year old blue male with natural ears. He came to us when his owner moved to a new home without a fence and he ran away often. Due to this, he will not be placed as a fence exception. Blue is a wonderful boy. He is currently living with two male Danes, a female cat, and 2 young children. He does wonderfully with all of them. He absolutely loves children and gets so excited when they get home. He does chase the cat, but hasn't tried to hurt her. Blue has a lot of energy for a 5 year old dane. He loves to run and play with the dogs and kids, and has a special bunny toy that he will tease you with to get you to chase him. He is very well behaved on a leash and does well on car rides. Blue has also had obedience training and knows several commands. He will make a wonderful addition to almost any home.

Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League can only adopt within its incorporated area (eastern NY, eastern PA, NJ, DE, WV, MD, VA, NC, eastern SC). For more information on our adoption policies please visit our website: To adopt a Great Dane under 2 you must have traditional fencing (no electronic fences permitted).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Blue, a Hanover Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in Hanover, or seeking a Great Dane dog from a breeder in Hanover.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hanover already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hanover breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hanover paves the way for another one to be saved.
