Cesar's Story...
UPDATED BIO 1/2/12: Hi, I am Caesar and here is an update and correction to my original profile. The vet believes I am about 8 years old, and not 11. However, I act like I am 5! So if you're looking for an old man who will lay around all the time, I'm not your man! I wear a belly band because I lift my leg to mark in the house. I bet this changes after my neuter. I am being neutered on January 3rd as well as having my remaining rotten teeth taken out. I did weigh 5 pounds when I first got here, but I am now at least 6 pounds because my FM can't feel my bones sticking out of my backside anymore! I eat dry food that is left for me to graze on and I also have a little wet food when the other dogs eat as a treat and to help me gain weight. I should probably gain one more pound to be a good weight but I won't know what I weigh now until January 3rd.
I love love love love to be with my person. I love to rub myself all over you and always want to be sitting or laying with or following you around the house and I definitely want to sleep with you. I think I would probably like to be an only dog but I do get along with the other dogs in the house. I just push them out of the way when FM wants to pat them so I can be first in line. I can tell you that I have no idea how to play with a toy but I do like to gnaw on a bully stick with the few teeth that I have and my gums feel good on it too. I get along fine with FM's 8 year old granddaughter but don't really care to play with her. I have never been mean to any of the other dogs or people. I do bark when I see new dogs in the street but I think it's because I want to see if they will just let me meet them. I potty outside whenever you want to take me but I will lift my leg so far in the house too. I was not treated well for many years as my fur was falling out and my nails were too long and I was very hungry when I was found. Thank you United Yorkie Rescue for saving me from euthanasia so I can spend the rest of my life making someone happy and of course letting them make me happy. Where is that special person? I know you are looking for me..

INITIAL BIO 12/14/2011: MEET CAESAR! He's an adorable little senior yorkie boy (estimated to be 12 y/o, but he will see the vet to age him), who was rescued by UYR today from a local shelter. He was found in someone's yard, wandering around probably trying to figure out where he was, poor little guy! Caesar is a spry little guy, who loves attention and also loves to give kisses. He is currently only 5.1 lb, but he is very skinny, and he should gain up to 1-2 lbs to be at a healthier weight. His nails were very long and you could tell that this little guy had been neglected for a long time. He only has a couple of teeth left in his mouth and these will need to be extracted as they are rotten, and surely must cause him pain. His skin is so dry and flaky, probably from poor nutrition, but he landed in the right place to recover and recuperate. His perfect home would be one without children, maybe an older couple that wanted a snuggle bunny to be in their lap all the time. He is a true gentleman who so deserves to have a nice, soft bed to lie in and compassionate owners who will love him unconditionally. Does your home sound like it would be perfect for Caesar? Could you give Caesar a home for Christmas? What every rescue dog wants - their very own home...............

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cesar, a The Villages Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier for sale in The Villages, or seeking a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog from a breeder in The Villages.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in The Villages already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a The Villages breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier breeders who help with Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in The Villages paves the way for another one to be saved.
