My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bliss is a 90 pound, 4 year old, AKC registered, black Newfy girl with a beautiful, wavy, shiny coat. She was used for breeding, and has apparently had 2 litters. Even though she has been a totally outside dog, housed with 2 other Newfs her entire life, she was never denied food, water or shelter, consequently appears healthy mentally and physically, and everyone who has met her falls in love immediately. Everyone at the vet’s office loved her because she is so needy for human attention she is leaning up against everyone wanting to bond. She had blood drawn and her vaccines updated, and never flinched. She passed her physical with flying colors, even her ears and skin were totally clear. She does have a heart murmur, which the vet said would not affect her quality of life or life expectancy.

She has been in foster care for one week at this writing. Loves having a warm home with humans, other dogs and one cat so much, that she literally has to be pushed outside to potty. She discovered getting on the sofa on about the 2nd day here, but also loves the soft dog beds. She is not a bit shy with the resident Newfs, and was fed with them since the first day. She is not shy with humans either, but can be stubborn due to lack of any kind of training. She is a very fast learner, and wants to please once she figures out what you want from her. She has learned sit quite well, but is still working on everything else. She is more confident off leash, and stays right with you. On leash she suddenly becomes frightened that you are going to make her do something unpleasant. This will improve with time. She has discovered squeaky toys, and is so cute with them prancing around making them squeak repeatedly. She appears very sound orthopedically moving smoothly both trotting and running. When she is running around she has a happy tail that curls over her back.

Bliss will be a wonderful addition to any family. She just needs training and positive reinforcement.

Bliss is house trained, neutered up to date vaccinations and on heartworm preventative.

Our adoption fee is $250.00. A fenced yard with a minimum height of 4-feet is required for adoption.

If you plan on submitting an application and you are out of our region, once your application is approved we require that you come to our area to meet the dog and foster family. If that goes well you will be able to take your Newfie home with you.
