Holly's Story...
This beautiful little girl was found as a stray and GLWR made her Christmas wish come true by getting her to a loving foster home in time for the holidays. In the spirit of Christmas, she was named Holly. She is listed as 2 yrs. old but her foster mom thinks she is younger. She still has the puppy muzzle and her body has not yet filled out like a typical 2 year old Holly loves, loves, loves people-men, women and children. Her foster mom thinks she was in a family with young children because she just lights up when she sees kids. Holly has not done any jumping up on people, nor does she rough-house. She loves food but has not done any counter surfing as of yet. Holly loves to snuggle tight and has plenty of love for everyone in the house.
She did ignore cats but she does show prey drive with squirrels and other outdoor critters. She stares at them attentively and when she is outside, she creeps up on them very, very slowly. She is great a pointing birds.

Holly is not your typical high energy young girl, but she does have plenty of energy and loves to go for long walks. She is very laid back in the house and knows her indoor manners. With minimal reinforcement, Holly would be great with a runner. She is great on a leash, but occasionally cuts in front-which can put a damper on a nice run. She is easily corrected when she does this but will need reinforcement to make it stick. She if fully house trained, knows basic commands, walks nice on a leash, and unlike a lot of young weims, she listens attentively. Her foster mom thinks that Holly’s main goal in life is to make her owner happy. When Holly is unsure of what you are asking of her, she sits, looks deep into your eyes and waits for more instructions. She is very intelligent, learns very quickly and wants to learn more. Holly is a good dog, right out of the box but with minimal training, her foster mom believes she can be phenomenal! Holly is a beautiful dog with a one-in-a-million personality

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Holly, a Grand Haven Weimaraner dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Weimaraner for sale in Grand Haven, or seeking a Weimaraner dog from a breeder in Grand Haven.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Haven already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Haven breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Weimaraner breeders who help with Weimaraner rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Haven paves the way for another one to be saved.
