Toby's Story...
Courtesy posting for
Toby - is a sweet black lab mix who is about 1 1/2 years old and weighs about 30 lbs. He is a sweet boy and is excellent with children. Toby is fully house-trained/kennel-trained/leash-trained and loves going for walks. This boy has many great qualities, but he is very skiddish and fearful around men and we suspect that he was abused by a man before he was rescued from the shelter. This boy would do wonderfully in a home with women and children and with someone who has the patience and understanding to work with him on his trust of men. He is not aggressive toward men, but he cowers and trembles when in their company. Toby just needs a loving home with a fenced-in yard and room to play.
Toby is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations including rabies, and neutered. If interested in giving Toby the happy life he deserves, please fill out an application an indicate ‘Black Toby’ in the notes section.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Toby, a Lewisville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Lewisville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Lewisville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lewisville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lewisville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lewisville paves the way for another one to be saved.
