My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I am Suzie. Before ESRA came into my life, I had spent eighty to ninety percent of my time in a large plastic kennel for several years.

The family I lived with decided that I should have a better life, so they contacted ESRA. My situation has changed quite a bit in the last few weeks since I have been in ESRA's care. I had never before been to the vet, and I also had never been groomed, so I had a lot of mats and dreadlocks. I got a bath and got rid of my tangled fur. I went to the vet and found out that I had ear infections in both ears and at least two teeth that were abscessed. It turns out that I had to have five of my teeth pulled due to their bad condition. I have been vaccinated and spayed, and I am feeling much better now.

I am housetrained, and I know my basic commands. I ride well in the car, and I walk well on a leash. I am on the shy side, but I warm up once I get to know you. I follow you around, and I like to cuddle and give kisses. I love to have my ears and tummy rubbed! I am a good listener. I'm also smart, and I learn quickly. My foster mom says that I am not a needy dog and that I'm very easy to take care of.

As I have not been around children, I would probably do best in a home with just adults. I would love to be in a home where someone will give me lots of exercise and will be around a lot. I don't want to be left alone for long periods of time, as I have had enough of that in my life already. I am told that I am dominant. It would be best for me to be the only dog, so that I can get all the attention that I have missed.

Do you have a place in your heart and home for me? I promise that I'll stick close to you and be your devoted friend!

Love,
Suzie
