Petie's Story...
Petie is a very smart & inquisitive 5 year old neutered male Australian Shepherd/Lab mix. He is about 50 pounds. He is well behaved & quick to learn new tticks & commands. Petie is crate-trained, travels very well, & is good with children. He is mostly housebroken, but is currently mostly outdoors at his foster home. Petie is happy to be somewhat athletic or a couch potato, so long as he is with his person. As you can see, he is willing to tolerate silly costumes! Current on vaccinations, deworming & heartworm protection.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Petie, a Bedford Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Bedford, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
