My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tessa is 2 year old female BC mix, most likely with cattle dog. She is black and white with a smooth coat. Tessa is a smart and strong willed dog and requires a person who will be consistent with her. She would not be a good match for the first time dog owner.

She is energetic and needs an active home with a job to do to reduce some of her energy. If your hobby is dog sports, this is the girl for you! She would probably thrive at it as she wants to please you and give her a job to channel her energy. Tessa loves playing Frisbee and is incredible at fetch. She catches balls and other toys in the air and is a huge fan of soft squeaky toys without ripping them apart. She is very eager to please so learning new tasks come easy. Tessa is very loving, affectionate, loyal, and happy go lucky.

Tessa is getting along with her foster siblings, one of which is a female. However, BCIN advocates opposite gender placment . She would love nothing better than to forge a close bond with you. She can be a bit weary of some men. She is very bothered by cats, so a home without felines is a must. Although Tessa is not aggressive towards children, it is recommended that she not be placed in a home with children under 12 years of age.

She knows all of her basic obedience. She even sits up and begs for a treat. Even though Tessa has a high energy level dog, she is an incredible house dog. She is house broken, crate trained, and only barks to let you know if someone comes up the door. She has great house manners and will happily lay on a dog bed while chewing on her favorite bone or snuggle up with you on the couch to watch TV.

Tessa would be very content as an only dog, but can be part of a pack with other dogs that will not challenge her since she is a very confident female.Tessa requires a very dog savvy person who understands her needs, not to just go for a walk each day. She loves having a job to do and her job is to play, play, play!
