Holler's Story...
When he’s tired, he’s Sleepy Holler. When he’s friendly and waggy, Buddy Holler. At Christmas, he was Holly. The boy’s acquired all kinds of nicknames and he responds to them all – not because he was trained to come for any of these names but just because he likes the people who use them! When you make it on this boy’s ‘Friends’ List’ – you know you’ve hit the jackpot, a sweeter grey, you’ll be hard pressed to find. While initially he can be a little standoffish with new people, the fact that you earn his love and affection through a little time and attention makes it all the sweeter. This is definitely not a boy with 300 friends on his Friends’ List, the ones who are there, count!

A gorgeous, shiny black boy with the warmest, almost amber eyes he loves ear rubs (he gives heartfelt little moans when you get it right), treats, and naps. Even with his crate door open, he lounges in there, getting up periodically to do a little exploring, check in on the other residents, before heading back for a snooze. You definitely won’t hear a peep out of this boy. Toys could not possibly be of less interest to him, though Holler finds the company of other greys entertaining. He enjoys a nice run with them periodically, and stands there with the patience of a saint when the bratty resident girl grey starts trying to initiate rough housing. He’s never met a dog so far that he doesn’t get along with. People on the other hand, can be a little overwhelming at times though he’s made great progress in behaving positively when he meets new people. It’s important to note as well, we think, that once introductions are made, this is a boy who gets along with everyone, he’s so quiet and steadfast.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Holler, a Spencerville Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in Spencerville, or seeking a Greyhound dog from a breeder in Spencerville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Spencerville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Spencerville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Spencerville paves the way for another one to be saved.
