Dakarai's Story...
location: Floyds Knobs, IN
Dakarai (meaning happiness) is a 2-3 year old male Rat Terrier who will make you smile with his antics. He is number 1 in tail chasing and can go both left and right; also an Olympic high jump specialist! Dakarai is a funny little boy at just 10 pounds, but with very long legs, a full tail and erect ears. He is very good natured and recently got dressed up as an elf and went with his friend, Santa Spencer (the standard poodle) to the local library, where they passed out candy to the patrons. Dakarai is house trained, neutered, walks on a leash, and loves men, women and children. He even attempts to make friends with the elderly, grumpy, senior lady dogs at his foster home. Dakarai was rescued from the shelter in Murpheesboro (TN), where his first family left him because they had no time for him. He may be agressive to cats since he chases the squirrels in his foster mom's yard. Dakarai pays no attention to the cows and horses at his home. Looking for a dog to entertain you? Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dakarai, a Carmel Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Carmel, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Carmel.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Carmel already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Carmel breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Carmel paves the way for another one to be saved.
