Scruffy's Story...
Scruffy is a one year old, Black and Tan, Dachshund mix. He was recently placed in a home but soon returned because he chews when left alone, therefore, we ask that any potential adopters be familiar with proper training techniques to correct his behavior, ie crate training and keep in mind he is still considered an adolescent and will grow out of this stage. Scruffy enjoys the company of other animals and a companion would be nice but is not required. We were also told that he is housebroken, but we cannot guarantee this information is correct. Only those interested in providing him a life-long home need apply as we do not want this little guy to bond and be seperated again.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scruffy, a Ft. Pierce Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Ft. Pierce, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Ft. Pierce.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ft. Pierce already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ft. Pierce breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ft. Pierce paves the way for another one to be saved.
