Thomas's Story...
Thomas is a very lovable, playful, active and friendly 18-month-old, male, green-eyed, white and grey-spotted Turkish Van cat looking for a loving guardian. Thomas was found as a stray and landed at Chicago Animal Care and Control. He was extremely stressed by the confinement of a shelter cage, so he was lucky to get out and enjoy life in a foster home. He is doing phenomenally well with all the other cats and people in his foster home. He loves catnip, enjoys toys, playing with other cats hanging out with his people. His foster mom calls him the PERFECT cat! Thomas is very healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, and virus-tested. To meet and possibly adopt him, please contact Julia at julia0608@comcast.net or 312.375.5227. His adoption fee of $75 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control. If you would like to donate towards Thomas’ care and to help others like him, please make a donation at http://fcacc.org/fcacc_home/donate/donate-now?view=donation and please specify the “foster program”.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thomas, a Chicago Turkish Van cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Turkish Van for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Turkish Van cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Turkish Van breeders who help with Turkish Van rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
