LEXA's Story...
LEXA is a DOLL, a sweet 9 month old " SHORKIE TZU"

yes its seems to be designer mutt season in rescue this month...

a SHORKIE TZU , is a shih tzu crossed with a Yorkie,

they are called designer hybrids - they are NOT hybrids - ( a hybrid is a cross between 2 different SPECIES , not breeds ) they are really just a cross breed.

while we NEVER CONDONE the breeding of these dogs,

we will rescue ANY dog in need, and this baby was in REAL need.

she is a lovely blond with sliver shimmer- - long bodied like a shih tzu with a DARLING cute under bite..

Soft baby fine hair like a yorkie, med length coat , no under coat - a very friendly happy dog. BUT - she was hit - and when in her crate will cower when you go to take her out but its only been a few days and she is already starting to realize NOT all humans hit or HURT .

she has NEVER tried to bite or snap at all.

NOT yappy , nippy or snappish AT ALL.

playful but NOT hyperactive at all. VERY much a lap dog, very affectionate.

she is teething so i make sure she has LOTS of chew toys to play with, this is a very VELCRO dog, she loves to be with you where ever you go and will sleep on your feet if your sitting - or in your lap- a true lap dog, she is VERY calm for a young pup

that could be from her former abusive life OR just her nature we will see while she is in foster -

when she see's me now she dances with joy. And loves to follow me everywhere ...

doesn't LIKE the crate but accepts it at bed time,
she will be fully crate trained & housebroken before she is let out to adoption.

she has NOT gone potty in the house yet but i am very good at making sure she has plenty of chances to get outdoors she is small and has a small bladder , and still a pup,

So, i make sure she gets out enough.

she has NOT ever had an accident in her crate.

she will be taught basic leash skills while in foster and basic obedience commands .- which should be finished up with upon adoption.

as she is still very young she is not available to persons that will leave this dog 8 or 9 hours a day in a crate alone - she needs to be with people, and enjoy being a puppy , that is something she has no idea how to do .

we will be looking for a family that either 2 people that work different shifts, retiree's , or a person that works from home, or can take her to work with them.

she is fine with the other dogs in foster both large ( if non pushy aggressive type & great with small dogs too )

she is fine with the cats. Ignores them Totally.

NO kids under 7 please - I prefer children that know how to respect and be gentle to such a small dog. I do NOT wantthis pup mauled by a child that has no small dog experience - and have the dog abused or tortured. will make exceptions to kids that have been RAISED with small dogs and KNOW how to treat them with respect , and be GENTLE with them. she is a toy DOG, not a PLAY toy for a wild child.

photos as sooon as her grooming is completed - (she is being shaved to a shih tzu clip with a top knot on head and will be stunning.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

LEXA, a Muskegon Shih Tzu/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier for sale in Muskegon, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier puppy from a breeder in Muskegon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Muskegon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Muskegon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Muskegon paves the way for another one to be saved.
