Buck's Story...
Buck is a nine-year-old brown tabby with a sweet, calm disposition who would like to go home with someone of a similar disposition and no other cats. He just wants to hang out, attack his scratching post, and be loved.

The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904 to protect the city's working horses. Today, its clinic and Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center looks after the health and emotional well-being of every adoption animal.

HSNY is a non-kill shelter. Every animal is micro-chipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, and they offer FREE vet care for the first 3 weeks after adoption. TO APPLY, please visit http://humanesocietyny.org/adoptions/ --download the application, then email completed form to sandra.hsny@verizon.net, fax it to (212) 752-2803, or bring it in person to the adoption center.

Our one and only location is: 306 East 59th Street (between 1st & 2nd Avenues) in Manhattan. Our adoption hours are 10:30AM - 4:00PM, 7 days a week. If you'd like to sponsor this pet, please email sandra.hsny@verizon.net. Your donation is tax deductible, and 100% will go towards animal programs. Donate to Our Shelter...

Won't you please sponsor this pet? Click the button above. You can give as much or as little as you like. Your donation is tax deductible. Thank you and our furry ones thank you. Each and every animal here is very special to us. We are dedicated to finding each one just the right home. So for some cats and dogs, that means a much longer stay - as sometimes they are not as outgoing, pretty or have as perfect manners as they could. And because we don't "dispose" of them for this, our cost for keeping them healthy and becoming better companions is high.

Our Adoption Process...

The Humane Society of New York does not do "same-day" adoptions. While meeting and interviewing with our adoption director, we will begin the process to see if we have the right pet to match your lifestyle, preferences and personality.
