Skeeter's Story...

Hi! My name is Skeeter! I am being abandoned because my owner is having back surgery in February. I have never known a bad day. I've lived with my family of people, cats and other dogs since I was born. I'm now a 1-year-old coonhound pup who is fully grown at about 40-50 pounds. I am neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and housetrained. I have a great personality. I'm very sweet, loving and friendly with everyone, including other animals. I'm a big lap dog who loves to snuggle. I love to play with toys and chew on rawhides. I am smart and I walk well on a leash, but I also love to romp and run in the fenced yard. Please give me a home where I'll never be abandoned again! Adoption fee: $75.

Apply today or come meet available dogs, cats, puppies and kittens the 4th Sunday of every month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at K9 Cuisine N More, 55220 Van Dyke at 25 Mile Rd., Shelby Township. Our next event is on Sunday, February 26th. Give a homeless pet the best gift ever - a family to love and a home for life! Enjoy the Scentsy sale too.

Adoption and Foster Care Application:

Adoption Process:
Complete the application at the link above or send an email to to tell us which pet you're interested in and we'll send you a questionnaire that will help us make the best match for you and your new pet. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. This is a pending period to give your dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skeeter, a Troy Coonhound (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Coonhound (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Troy, or seeking a Coonhound (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Troy.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Troy already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Troy breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Coonhound (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Coonhound (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Troy paves the way for another one to be saved.
