Our Director's daughter decided to become a veterinarian and is currently in her first year of vet school. When she was home on break she was volunteering at our vet clinic to learn the ropes. While she was there someone brought an adorable little terrier mix in to be put to sleep. They had found him, and never could find his owners, so it was the end of the story for our Benji.
A very sad ending for a 13 pound, year old guy who never really got a real shot at life. Then he gave Kelly those "eyes" and that was that. Benji found himself here, and now he's looking for a place to call his own. Benji gets along great with all his doggie friends, loves to play and can jump over a four foot fence. This guy is a character. Hurry up and send us your application, Benji is ready to come home!
The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application
here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.
After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not meet he/she will be adopted to that home.
Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
