Fergie's Story...
Greetings from Chicago English Bulldog Rescue (CEBR FOR SHORT). We are the ONLY 501c3 English Bully rescue in Illinois! Don’t be fooled by our name, we cover a large Midwest territory. Hi Everyone!! I'm Fergie! I am a loveable four year old gal who had the hard life of a breeder mom before coming into CEBR’s care, and boy am I happy to be out of there and living the good life! I'm a petite girl at only 40 pounds, I'm fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and full of spunk!

I am pretty healthy, although I do have dry eye and droopy eyelids that will need medicine for the rest of my life to prevent infections. Because of my dry eye not being treated in the past, I don’t see too well sometimes, especially in the dark. I also get itchy sometimes, likely due to allergies, but I have medicine that helps that.

I am the perfect balance of mellow and energetic! I love to run around and be silly, and I especially like to show my toys off to you. I love to be pet and will “talk” at you if you stop. My favorite thing is to snuggle up on the couch with my humans and snooze the day away. Did I tell you how smart I am? I can “sit” and “shake” and will drop my toys when you ask me to. I also walk so nicely on the leash outside and I’m not afraid of anything!

Since I likely spent my life in a cage, I am still working on my potty training. It’s going well, and I will even tell you when I have to go out by sitting by the door! It is a work in progress though and I am still learning. Sometimes I don’t always get along with other dogs, so I would probably do best in a house where I am the only one. It doesn’t bother me to pass other dogs on walks though. I think I just like my own space. I’ve never seen a cat before, but I’m not interested in other small animals I see outside so I don’t think I’d bother with them.

I would really love a home where my humans are around a lot of the time to give me lots of attention and work on my training. I will be your new side-kick, and I come with an endless supply of kisses and tail wiggles!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fergie, a Park Ridge English Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a English Bulldog for sale in Park Ridge, or seeking a English Bulldog dog from a breeder in Park Ridge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Park Ridge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Park Ridge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even English Bulldog breeders who help with English Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Park Ridge paves the way for another one to be saved.
