Dexter's Story...
Please contact ARNO (adoptfromarno@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet.

Dexter is a stunning Chow/shepherd mix who was hanging around Harahan when an ARNO volunteer noticed him. He was finally trapped and proved to be a big sweet boy. He would love a home where he could go for long walks and have his own special toys. He has a big fluffy tail and a big sweet face! He is a strong and very smart dog who would be a great candidate for training! He does not appear to like cats, but loves to be with his humans! He loves to be brushed and lives for butt scratches. Once he trusts you, he will lean into you with his entire boy!

For more information on this ARNO rescue please contact adoptfromarno@yahoo.com. The adoption fee is $200 and includes neuter, UTD vaccines, rabies, chip, and heartworm treatment if needed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dexter, a New Orleans Chow Chow/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chow Chow/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in New Orleans, or seeking a Chow Chow/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in New Orleans.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Orleans already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Orleans breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chow Chow/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Chow Chow/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Orleans paves the way for another one to be saved.
