My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Please click on our organization name "Circle P Sanctuary and Ranch" for more information on adoption policies and fees** _____Belle History:______ Belle is a Humane Society seizure case. She had been stalled almost constantly for a period of six and a half years. At her rescue, she was filthy from having to live in an uncleaned stall and her hooves were very outgrown. _____Belle Current:_____ Since coming to the Sanctuary, Belle has improved greatly. She loves attention and being around people - she is a very sweet and affectionate horse. We have done a lot of groundwork with Belle and have found she can get nervous when working with her and needs a strong, gentle hand. Further evaluation of Belle has shown us a horse that is too scarred from her previous life to ever completely heal. Belle stands well in the cross-ties and loves to be groomed, but she is still too nervous for most other activities - we do not think that she will be able to be ridden. _____Belle Future:______ Because of the large amount of time she spent in a stall at her previous home, Belle often paces when in a closed stall. She would do best with a run-in shelter and 24 hour turnout. However, Belle is now on a daily calming supplement (Quitex) and is doing much better about being in a stall for a few hours. Belle needs a home where there is at least one other horse for her to be with, two or more horses would be best. We have a very strict NO breeding policy. Belle has extreme anxiety issues and trouble focusing. Although the Quitex is helping, Belle needs a quiet home with an owner that simply wishes to brush and give attention to her. We do not think that Belle will ever be able to be ridden safely due to her lack of focus and high anxiety. Belle has suffered enough in her life, she needs a forever home that can help take some of that hurt away.
