My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please note: we do not have a physical location, we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.

JENNY is a beautiful 5-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix who is approximately 65 pounds. Jenny's family unfortunately has to surrender her due to divorce.

Born in November 2006, Jenny was found in the woods at a few weeks of age abandoned with her litter-mates and they were all sent to a local shelter. Jenny was adopted when she was 8 weeks old. She grew up with a male dog and gets along well with other dogs and is wonderful with children. She has not been socialized with cats much but she has never shown aggression toward them.

Jenny loves car rides. She is accustomed to being left home alone during the workday and does fine with that - she is not in a crate. She likes to walk on leash and does pretty well on her gentle leader. She sometimes needs a reminder not to pull, but is very manageable on her leash. She listens well outdoors and is often off-leash. She has no medical needs and personality-wise, she does get mild anxiety at times in new situations or if she sees people outside and she can't join them, but isn't destructive.

Jenny's foster mom shares: "Jenny is a dream dog! She is just so sweet. Very quiet, not hyper, lies quietly on her dog bed, does not destroy the house... need I go on? When you pet her, she gets this look on her face of 'oh, this is so great" - she will make someone a wonderful dog."
