I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, and not good with cats.
ROCKFORD (but likes to be called Rocco). UPDATE: VERY GENTLE, NON BARKER. He is timid but not at all aggressive -- very gentle. Once you gain his trust, it is permanent. Friendly with other dogs.
Rocco is a one year old black and tan dachshund (15.5 pounds). Rocco was scrawny when he came to us, but his weight has crept up a bit, and he now could use a bit of a diet. (Happens to the best of us, doesn't it? If you are dieting he'd love to share veggies with you.) He is a muscular and sweet loving fellow. He loves being here at the rescue and feels safe in his big wire crate filled with warm blankets from the dryer. This is a young pup so with love and understanding that he is now receiving he will be an awesome forever companion. We can tell you his full story when you meet him. He is very shy when he first meets you, and so he doesn't "show" as well as some very friendly pups. But please, give this guy a chance and you will see how special he is. He will be your loyal and loving companion.
The adoption fee is $295, no exceptions. The fees include spay/neuter, rabies, dhpp, bordetella, pyrantel, advantage treatment, grooming including nails, as well as complete exam at our doxie vet. Each dog comes with all new doxie halter, new toys and blankets. All in all, an investment greater than the adoption fee. Please go to www.odr-inc.org. We have very strict adoption guidelines because we require an escape proof fenced yard and someone who is home most of the day. Kids over 10 are ok, but no cats less they've been raised with them, or other small prey animals (these are hunters). Oregon Dachshund Rescue Inc. is a 501 c3 non profit with 25 years experience of rescuing Dachshunds. My goal is to provide homes for unwanted, special needs and abandoned Dachshunds. I do not breed or sell Dachshunds for a profit. I receive into rescue 1 to 3 doxies PER DAY. Before adoption all of my rescues are spayed and neutered, made current on rabies, DHPP, bordetella, fecal and dental if needed. The rescues are also groomed, nails done and one month Advantage treatment. I take great pride in finding wonderful forever homes for my rescue Dachshunds. My criteria is very strict because I want to insure the safety and future of each one of these very special rescues. I do not give refunds of any kind for any reason but will offer an exchange for another Dachshund, if you choose. The dog's character, health and physical condition represented by this Rescue is in good faith. The new owner(s) must agree to release, hold harmless and forever discharge Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. from any and all claims arising from adoption of any of our rescue Dachshunds.
