Important Note

Dottie is best friends with Dora. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
There she was with her sister, playing in the drive-through lane of a local bank. Worried that they would be killed, a concerned teller contacted AARF. Dottie and Dora arrived when they were very small and very scared and unsure of the humans who were now caring for them. With lots of love and patience, the two have come a long way and are learning to trust their people and to accept the love they have to offer. Dottie is a typical young kitty who loves to play and romp. And even though she is petite little girl, she will hit the kitty tree with a vengeance as she runs up one side and down the other! She is also a beauty with her wonderful tortie markings...and those special "dots" that outline her ears. Dottie needs to be in a home where she will be given plenty of time to acclimate. She has great potential for love once she learns to trust her caretakers. It would be sad to split up this pair of sisters, so please take a look at Dora too.

About Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation, Inc. (AARF)

About Our Rescue Group...

Mission Statement: AARF aids homeless and helpless cats and dogs in the greater Winston-Salem area: providing rescue and adoption services, while encouraging the human/animal bond.

Strategic Focus Area: Neglected, homeless and abused companion animals, and the pets whose owners have either gone to nursing homes or are deceased.

History: Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation, Inc. (AARF) was incorporated in 1995 as a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization to assist animals and people in the community through adoption services and rescue operations. AARF is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and is supported by 136 regular volunteers who work tirelessly, and other 'as needed' volunteers who participate in special events/fundraisers to implement the AARF mission. We also have 10 volunteer veterinarians who work with us to support our goals.

Other Accomplishments: AARF works with local veterinarians to hold several Rabies Clinics per year. Public education on animal care and pet owner responsibility is a priority. We also rescue suitable animals from euthanasia.
