Shelley Rock's Story...
Fostered in Edgewater, MD ~ Sweet, sweet Shelley has just recently arrived in her new foster family and is making herself right at home. Life has taught many of our dogs to be timid. Not so, our Shelley. She made her first outing to the vet and was friendly and outgoing with all of the other dogs in the waiting area, as well as their owners, and she cuddled with the 11 year old all the way home. She is quickly learning to be a house pet, with her favorite pastimes including eating, snuggling, sleeping, and more snuggling. She conquered the stairs on her second day of fostering and is quite proud of herself! She is still learning how to share bed space with the resident canine and feline, so she may benefit best by being an only pet. Shelley is calm, quiet, sweet and lovable and just wants a family who will treat her nicely and give her lots of cuddle time! Shelley was most likely used for breeding. She comes from rural Virginia and is quite thin, obviously having missed a few meals. Posted 1/30/12

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shelley Rock, a Waldorf Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Waldorf, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Waldorf.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waldorf already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waldorf breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waldorf paves the way for another one to be saved.
